Ever since the Sabau gals (my Romanian wife and her mother) introduced me to the magically weird 1973 Romanian kids film Veronica during the first year of the pandemic, I became obsessed with this lost gem. Virtually nobody outside (any many inside) Romania have ever heard of it, or have long forgotten the film. This is partly due to the fact that it has been long out of print on DVD and VHS, but mainly due to the fact that for audiences outside of Romania, there is no English (or any other language) subtitled version of this film (or its equally bizarre sequel) available anywhere. After many months of collaborative effort, this new English subtitled version of the film is now available to everyone for free, here on YouTube. I really believe that western cult film audiences would appreciate this obscure and totally bonkers movie, and hope having a more western-friendly version of it will help in building this gem the cult following it deserves. There are only un-subtitled and lesser quality versions available on YouTube thus far, so this new version will be the most accessible and highest quality (upscaled to 4K from a �90s DVD print) available. #RomanianFilm #cultfilms
