Synopsis (EN):
In the tragicomic short film „Offstage”, the obsessed mother of Filip kidnaps the famous actor and acting teacher Alexandru Solomon in order to convince him that her son is worth admittance at the National University of Theatre and Cinematography in Bucharest. A failed theatre director, Maria is projecting her own failures on her only son, obsessively wanting to make a great actor out of him despite his obvious lack of talent. How far is she willing to go?

Director’s BIO:
Romanian born actor and director Andrei Huțuleac is a 2012 graduate of the National University of Theatre and Cinematography in Bucharest. He majored in acting and is best known for his work in the theatre. In 2016 he decided to make his debut as a filmmaker and started working on the script for the short film „Offstage”. The short film eventually won the award for Best Live Action Short Film at the Oscar qualifying Warsaw Film Festival in 2018.
